I adopted my pittie baby girl Karmi five years ago. When my husband and I first got her she was full of life, always eager to play, and constantly showered my husband and I with lots of Karmi kisses. 

After two years of being a part of our family, Karmi’s personality drastically changed. She no longer wanted to play, and she was constantly biting her paws and itching. Her skin was bright red, and her paw pads appeared quite irritated.  She was suffering beyond words can express! I was in tears every time I looked at her.  My heart was completely broken and I tried to do everything in my power to comfort her.   

I called up the vet stating that it was an emergency situation, and I immediately took my baby girl to see him. Our vet did blood work and prescribed Karmi Apoquel. A few weeks later the vet contacted me and conveyed that Karmi has severe allergies.  Desperate to ease Karmi’s suffering, I gave her the Apoquel as the vet recommended. A few weeks later, Karmi was feeling better. 

However, she was not cured. She still was itching and had reoccurring ear infections. This cycle continued for a year. Whenever my baby was suffering, I gave her Apoquel. I never felt comfortable giving her this drug! I remember one Saturday morning, Karmi and I were snuggled together on the couch. She looked deep into my eyes as if she was asking for help.

Karmi’s energy level is back to normal, and she no longer has sadness in her eyes. My husband and I could not be happier! 

Karmi has been completely allergy free for the past two years now! She is once again a very joyful baby girl who cannot stop showering her family with lots of Karmi kisses! Thank you Dr. Khalsa for curing my beautiful baby girl! We will never forget you!
